Two major titles were decided in the final week of West Somerset Table Tennis

Association's fixtures.  Swifts took the handicap championship - see Knockout

Chart and Rules page and Wiveliscombe took Division one title.

The League Championship was decided as the two top sides Wiveliscombe
and Barbarians met in their title decider.  It was Wiveliscombe who hit top
form at the right time.  David Woodland notched up his 13th maximum in 14
matches as he reversed his only defeat of the season against previously
unbeaten Chris Norman in an enthralling 11-13, 11-9, 12-10, 12-10 contest.
It really wasn't Barbarians night as they took 3 games to 5 sets but went
down in each of them.  Two singles wins a piece for Dennis Buckingham &
Paul Nutkins ensured that Wivi eased past the points total they needed to
secure the title.  Geoff Walker ended his season on a high note as he
defeated both David Bryant & Martyn Summerell in Minehead A's 9-33 defeat
to Stogumber A.  Stogumbers Mervyn Hillier was the only player to manage a
maximum.
In Division Two Allsorts did exceptionally well to hold runners up Basement
Dwellers to a 23-23 draw.  Barbara Parker recorded an excellent maximum for
Allsorts.  For the Dwellers Lawrie Wells took two singles in his first
outing to the season.
Don Davis scored a maximum in his debut for Allsorts in a 36-4 win over R &
B Seniors.  Team mates Linda Golding and Barbara Parker also recorded

maximums.  Steve Robinson took 3 of R & B's 4 points from his singles.
